The 23rd March 2020 - first time we heard the words 'Stay at Home'. We had to abandon what we knew as 'normality' and absorb the 'new' way of living. We were allowed to have an exercise a day, so I used this opportunity to take photographs. During the first two weeks of 'lockdown', I was interested to capture what the effects of the measures imposed had on people's lives. The town of Reading, where I live, was completely transformed overnight. On one hand you had deserted streets, closed shops, people shopping for essentials - complete tranquility and on the other, certain roads were still bustling with life, police were doing their job maintaining order and small gatherings of individuals were emerging, who seemed oblivious to the reality.
In June 2020 this all seems like a lifetime back, in one way or another we embraced the 'new' norms and without a doubt, those months of curfew will shape our future.
